Half a year after launching the successful F7 series, Poco introduces two new F8 models featuring significant upgrades, unique designs, and increased prices.
The Poco F8 Ultra is priced €80 to €100 higher than the F7 Ultra for the 256GB and 512GB variants, respectively. However, early bird discounts reduce the price by €180 to €200.
Poco F8 Ultra
This latest Ultra model offers a larger 6.9" display with a reduced resolution of 1200p+ but retains a 120Hz OLED panel with 12-bit Dolby Vision. This is a shift from the F7 Ultra's 6.67" 1440p+ screen with similar specs. Battery capacity is also boosted from 5,300mAh to a robust 6,500mAh, while charging speeds remain consistent with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Poco F8 Ultra Highlights
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the F8 Ultra stands out as one of the most affordable devices with this processor. Camera improvements include a larger 50MP main sensor (1/1.31" compared to 1/1.55" previously), a 5x 115mm telephoto periscope camera at 50MP, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a narrower 102° field of view instead of the previous 32MP 120° setup.
The Poco F8 Pro sees a €50 MSRP increase over its predecessor. Nevertheless, early bird pricing offers substantial discounts of €180 for the 256GB model and €200 for the 512GB variant, positioning it as a strong contender in the premium mid-range category.
Poco F8 Pro
The F8 Pro effectively replaces the F7 Ultra, featuring the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a comparable 6.59" display (versus 6.67" earlier). Its camera setup is similar, although it has an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, which is less impressive. While the old Ultra has a higher resolution 1440p+ display compared to the new Pro’s 1156p+, the Pro offers a larger 6,210mAh battery versus 5,300mAh.
Price Comparison and Availability
While details on the vanilla Poco F8 remain pending, these two models may become some of the best value-for-money phones in their segment. Below is a comparison of MSRP prices alongside effective early bird prices and previous F7 prices (noting that F7 prices have since dropped):
| Model | 256GB | 512GB |
|---|---|---|

Starting with the Poco F8 Ultra, its early bird pricing places it firmly in the flagship killer category — a rare feat in today’s market. For a detailed assessment of performance and user experience, please see our review, which confirms that the hardware mostly delivers.
The Poco F8 Pro also demands attention, offering strong performance for under €500. Our full review is forthcoming, but with its advanced chipset and impressive battery life, the Pro is an excellent upgrade over the F7 Pro. The improved cameras make it a compelling choice, but we recommend assessing whether it fits your personal needs.
