The iPhone Air has experienced disappointing sales, which appears to have discouraged several Chinese smartphone manufacturers from pursuing their own slim and lightweight models. A recent DigiTimes report reveals that Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo have all reportedly canceled plans to release ultra-slim phones designed to compete directly with the iPhone Air.

According to the report, Apple’s key supplier Foxconn has scaled back its iPhone production lines, while Luxshare has ceased iPhone manufacturing altogether. Additionally, the Air’s lead designer recently left the company, and Apple has reportedly delayed the release of its successor model.
