Poco Pad M1 Unboxing and Hands-On: Affordable 12.1-inch Tablet with Robust Accessories

Source: Date:

We recently unboxed Poco's latest tablet, the Poco Pad M1. Essentially a rebranded Redmi Pad 2 Pro, which we reviewed last month, it includes the same accessories in the box.

Inside, you’ll find a USB-A to USB-C cable, a 33W charger, and the tablet itself. Xiaomi prices the Poco Pad M1 at $329, with an Early Bird discount currently available for $279.

The Poco Pad M1 comes in an uncharacteristic but striking shade of blue that glows subtly under direct light, making it visually distinctive compared to other Poco devices.

Key specifications include a 12.1-inch 1600x2560px IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. It is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and a large 12,000mAh battery. The sizable battery supports up to 83 days of standby time. The included 33W charger supports fast charging, and the tablet can also reverse charge other devices at 27W.

Accessories compatibility is equally robust, mirroring that of its higher-tier sibling, the Poco Pad X1.

The included Cover case, while lacking the innovative origami folding mechanism seen on the X1’s Cover, remains practical and protective.

The Keyboard case continues the trend; it lacks some premium features present in the X1’s keyboard, such as magnetic attachment and a trackpad. Instead, you clip the tablet into place securely.

Despite its simpler design, the keyboard provides a pleasant typing experience with surprisingly good key travel.

While the keyboard is not a floating style, it firmly holds the tablet in position. Combined with the USB-C port supporting data transfer and external storage, the Poco Pad M1 offers a viable alternative to a laptop or Chromebook for light productivity and online tasks.
