Qualcomm announced its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship SoC in September, followed by a standard version just days ago. The OnePlus 15R, launching internationally on December 17, will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Qualcomm has also confirmed that Motorola will soon release a device equipped with this powerful chip, although Lenovo’s Motorola brand has yet to provide details.
Renowned leakster Evan Blass has disclosed that Motorola’s upcoming phone, codenamed "Urus," will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Described as a non-foldable flagship, the device is expected to launch under the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra name. Meanwhile, Motorola’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered device could potentially be the Razr 70 Ultra.
Motorola Edge 70Currently, the Edge 70 series includes a single model—the Edge 70—which was unveiled last month. This smartphone features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, a 6.7-inch 120Hz display with a resolution of 1220p, and a 4,800mAh battery. It is equipped with three 50MP cameras, including one front-facing and two rear cameras.
