The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumored to launch ahead of schedule, with leaks indicating a possible release by late December. This flagship device is expected to introduce significant camera enhancements, with new details about its imaging sensors recently emerging online.
Leaked renders of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra photography kit reveal a triple rear camera setup. Although this appears to be a reduction from the quad-camera arrangement on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the change may not necessarily indicate a downgrade.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra featured dual telephoto cameras. According to the leak, Xiaomi may discontinue the 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, opting instead for an overall upgraded telephoto sensor.
The upcoming flagship is expected to sport a 50MP OVX10500U primary sensor, a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL S5KHPE telephoto sensor, and either a 50MP OV50M or 50MP S5KJN5 ultrawide camera. For selfies, the device could feature a 50MP OV50M sensor.
