The iPhone Air has experienced disappointing sales, reportedly discouraging several Chinese manufacturers from pursuing their own ultra-slim phone designs. According to a DigiTimes report, prominent brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo have cancelled plans to launch slim and lightweight smartphones aimed at competing with the iPhone Air.

The report further reveals that Apple’s key supplier Foxconn has scaled back its iPhone production lines, while Luxshare has completely ceased manufacturing iPhones. Recently, the lead designer of the iPhone Air departed from Apple, and the company has reportedly delayed the release of its successor model.
