Motorola has started rolling out the Android 16 update to the Edge 50 Ultra, initially available for devices purchased in Brazil. This latest update is part of Motorola’s ongoing effort to bring new software versions to its older models.

The update is delivered over-the-air with firmware version W1UV36H.61-15 and is approximately 1.64GB in size. As is common with staged rollouts, it may take several days before all Edge 50 Ultra devices in Brazil receive the update.

Following the Brazil rollout, the update is expected to expand to additional regions. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra launched last year with Android 14, received Android 15, and will also be updated to Android 17. While no further major Android versions are planned beyond Android 17, the device will continue to receive security patches until April 2028.
