Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship SoC in September and followed up with a non-Elite variant just two days ago. The OnePlus 15R, launching on December 17, will be the first international smartphone equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
Qualcomm has also confirmed that Motorola plans to launch a smartphone featuring this advanced chip; however, Lenovo’s subsidiary has yet to make an official announcement. Trusted leaker Evan Blass has revealed that Motorola's upcoming device, codenamed "Urus," will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.
According to Blass, Urus will be a "non-foldable flagship" and is expected to carry the name Edge 70 Ultra. Meanwhile, a Motorola phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 could potentially be branded the Razr 70 Ultra.
Motorola Edge 70Currently, the Motorola Edge 70 series includes a single model: the Edge 70, unveiled last month. This device features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, a 6.7-inch 120Hz 1220p display, and a 4,800 mAh battery. Its camera setup includes three 50MP sensors—one front-facing and two rear cameras.
