While iPhones and Samsung Galaxy devices dominate the market, Google's Pixel series offers a compelling alternative with its latest generation featuring a new chipset foundry and enhanced camera capabilities.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro XL stands out as the flagship model, aside from the premium Fold edition (previously covered in another post). It boasts a 6.8" LTPO 1344p+ display and a 5,200mAh battery. However, battery life falls short of expectations, achieving only a 12 hour and 29-minute Active Use score.

This underperformance is likely due to the Tensor G5 chipset. Although the Pixel UI runs smoothly and the chip excels in on-device AI tasks, general multitasking and gaming performance lag behind other flagships within the same price range.

The camera system includes a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.31"), a 48MP 5x periscope telephoto (113mm), and a 48MP ultra-wide, along with a 42MP ultra-wide (17mm) front-facing camera. It consistently delivers high-quality photos and videos, even if it does not top the charts.

The Google Pixel 10 Pro shares the same chipset and camera setup, and many of the same considerations apply. It features one of the brightest displays we've tested, measuring 6.3". The 4,870mAh battery offers a similar 12 hour and 6-minute Active Use time, though slow charging remains a drawback.

The Google Pixel 10 mirrors the size of the 10 Pro but features a lower resolution display (1080p+ vs. 1280p+) and reduced brightness—though it remains among the brightest screens on the market.

Positively, it utilizes the same Tensor G5 chipset as its Pro counterparts. However, the 128GB storage variants of both models employ slower UFS 3.1 storage, so upgrading to at least the 256GB model is recommended for faster UFS 4.0 performance and additional storage. Battery life is nearly identical to the Pixel 10 Pro.

The Pixel 10 offers a more modest camera array with a 48MP main sensor (1/2.0"), a 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens (112mm), and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, complemented by a 10.5MP ultra-wide (95°, 20mm) selfie camera.
