In August, Spotify announced a price increase for Premium users across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific regions. Now, the Sweden-based music streaming giant is reportedly planning to raise subscription prices in the United States as well.
According to Financial Times, which cited three sources familiar with the matter, Spotify intends to implement the US price hike in the first quarter of 2026 as part of efforts to maintain sustained profitability.

The report further emphasizes the growing pressure Spotify and other music streaming services face from major record labels to increase prices in order to keep pace with inflation.
Spotify’s last subscription price increase in the US took place in June 2024. Currently, the Premium individual plan costs $11.99 per month.
In addition to the individual plan, Spotify offers three other Premium options in the US: Student at $5.99 per month, Duo at $16.99 per month, and Family at $19.99 per month. Details on the benefits of each plan are available here.
