In August, Spotify announced price hikes for Premium users across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. The Sweden-based music streaming giant is now preparing to raise subscription prices in the US as well.

According to three sources familiar with the matter, the Financial Times reports that Spotify plans to implement these US price increases in the first quarter of 2026 as part of its efforts to sustain profitability.

The report also emphasizes the pressure from major record labels on Spotify and other music streaming services to raise prices in response to inflation.

Spotify’s last subscription price increase in the US occurred in June 2024. Currently, the individual Premium plan is priced at $11.99 per month.

In addition to the individual plan, Spotify offers three other Premium plans in the US: Student at $5.99 per month, Duo at $16.99 per month, and Family at $19.99 per month. You can review their features here.
