Both devices share a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 1280x2832 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1.07 billion color support. The display covers the full P3 color gamut, offers 1440Hz PWM dimming, and features a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Huawei claims this is the brightest smartphone screen ever, reaching peak brightness of up to 8,000 nits, protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass.

The Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro both include a 3D ToF face scanning camera and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additionally, they support satellite communication for enhanced connectivity.

The Mate 80 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9030 chipset, while the Mate 80 uses the Kirin 9020. Huawei states the Kirin 9030 performs 35% better than the Kirin 9020, which itself is 35% faster than the prior Kirin 9010. The Mate 80 Pro Max, which houses the Kirin 9030 Pro, further boosts performance, reportedly 42% faster than the Kirin 9020.

RAM options for both phones start at 12GB, with top configurations reaching up to 16GB. The Pro Max model comes exclusively with 16GB of RAM.
