Honor is set to launch the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro smartphones on November 24 in China. Following the earlier reveal of their designs, Honor has now confirmed that the Pro variant will come equipped with a cutting-edge 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
This latest ultrasonic fingerprint technology surpasses traditional optical sensors by delivering higher levels of security and precision. According to Honor, the sensor on the 500 Pro unlocks the device in as little as 0.1 seconds, maintaining speed and reliability even when the user’s hands or screen are wet. This is supported by the phone’s IP69K rating, ensuring strong resistance to water and dust.
While Honor has not officially disclosed the full specifications of the 500 Pro, recent leaks suggest it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (Elite) chipset, backed by a large 8,000 mAh battery. Additionally, the device is rumored to sport a 50MP telephoto camera featuring 3x optical zoom.
The standard Honor 500 model is speculated to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. For a detailed overview of the leaked specifications for both models, you can check the full specs here.
