Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 series, slated for release in January 2026, is expected to feature displays with peak brightness levels identical to the previous generation, according to a reliable source.
Insider UniverseIce revealed that the Galaxy S26 lineup will have a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, matching the Galaxy S25 series. While this consistency might disappoint some, especially considering brighter displays available on certain Chinese flagship smartphones, Samsung appears to be maintaining its current standard.
Regarding display technology, the tipster expressed near certainty that Samsung will utilize the M14 material for the screens. However, details about 10-bit color support and high-frequency PWM dimming remain unclear at this stage.
The Galaxy S26 series is rumored to include three models: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Aside from display specs, the Ultra model is expected to receive a notable upgrade in wired charging speed — increasing from 45W on the S25 Ultra to 60W on the S26 Ultra. Wireless charging will stay at 25W, which is 10W faster than the previous generation.

Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are expected to support faster wireless charging, jumping from 15W to 20W. Although this is a modest increase, it might still improve everyday charging convenience.
