Samsung has officially commenced the rollout of the One UI Watch 8 update for the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic, both released in 2023. This new update is built on Google's Wear OS 4, unveiled earlier this year in May, delivering a refreshed user interface and an array of enhanced features.
Currently, the update (build ending in CYK2) is available for Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic devices purchased in South Korea. Samsung plans to expand the rollout to additional regions within the coming days, provided no critical issues arise during this phase.
To manually check for the update, users can open the Wearable app, navigate to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install. This substantial update promises improvements in usability and overall performance.
Previously, One UI Watch 8 was released for the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra in July. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic launched with One UI Watch 8 pre-installed.
