Qualcomm has officially revealed that its much-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 flagship SoC will be launched on November 26. The announcement was made by Qualcomm's Chinese division, following the initial introduction of the chip earlier this year at the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii.

At the September event, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform without disclosing detailed specifications, only indicating a 2025 launch window. Now, the exact launch date for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is confirmed, generating excitement among mobile tech enthusiasts and manufacturers alike.

Both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 are built on an advanced 3nm manufacturing process. However, they differ in core configurations and clock speeds. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is expected to feature prime and performance cores clocked at up to 3.8GHz and 3.32GHz, respectively. In comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 offers higher clock speeds with prime cores up to 4.6GHz and performance cores reaching 3.62GHz.

Earlier rumors suggested a 1+7 CPU core configuration for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Nevertheless, trusted insider Digital Chat Station has since indicated that the chip will adopt a 2+6 configuration, matching that of the Elite variant. This means the SoC will include two prime cores alongside six performance cores. Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will utilize the Adreno 840 GPU, though its graphics performance may not fully match that of the Elite model.

The full specifications and capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will be unveiled at its official launch later this month. Until then, those interested can explore more about Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 through our dedicated coverage linked below.
