Apple’s highly anticipated foldable smartphone, tentatively named the iPhone Fold, is generating buzz with reports pointing to a possible launch next year, though some rumors speculate a 2027 release. Recently, new information has emerged revealing details about the device’s battery capacity.
The upcoming iPhone Fold is rumored to house a battery significantly bigger than the one in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. While the iPhone 17 Pro Max features a 4,823mAh battery (with the eSIM-only model boasting a slightly larger 5,088mAh cell), the foldable iPhone is said to include a battery ranging between 5,400mAh and 5,800mAh.

This leak sheds light on Apple’s current testing phase for the foldable device, suggesting that the final product could sport an even larger battery—possibly close to 6,000mAh. This is reminiscent of earlier iPhone Air prototypes, which initially had 3,000mAh batteries but ended up with bigger cells in production models.
Considering the iPhone Fold is believed to feature a 7.58-inch main display along with a 5.38-inch cover screen, the increased battery capacity would be crucial to support the higher power consumption demands of its dual-screen setup.
