Recent discoveries within the One UI 8.5 code have unveiled detailed images and exciting new features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro. Following earlier sketches, these fresh insights give us a closer look at the earbuds' refined design and innovative interaction methods that promise to enhance user experience for Samsung’s next-generation wireless earbuds.

Fans of the Galaxy Buds will be relieved or disappointed to know that the iconic stems are sticking around for this generation. However, these stems have been redesigned with a flatter profile, moving away from the angular look of the Buds 3 series. Notably, the “Blade Lights” indicator appears to have been removed, streamlining the earbuds' appearance.

The charging case itself has undergone a makeover to accommodate a flat-lying design for the earbuds. At the back, there is a USB-C charging port accompanied by a button that activates the “Find your phone” feature, making your phone emit a sound to help locate it. Interestingly, a speaker grille on the opposite side of the port suggests the case may also be capable of producing sound to aid in locating it.

A standout feature for the Galaxy Buds 4 series is the introduction of Head Gestures. Users will be able to nod or shake their heads to perform actions such as answering or rejecting calls, hearing notifications read aloud and canceling them, dismissing alarms and timers, and more. Additionally, when interacting with the phone’s AI assistant, simple yes-or-no responses can be given using head movements.

The earbud stems will also incorporate enhanced hardware controls featuring squeeze and swipe gestures. Other notable improvements include Adaptive Noise Control for a better listening experience, 360° audio recording capabilities, and fast pairing compatibility with Samsung phones and tablets. Furthermore, the charging case is expected to house a slightly bigger battery, extending usability.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are rumored to be officially announced alongside the Galaxy S26 series in late January, with shipments likely beginning in early February based on current reports.
