The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, the company’s latest budget offering, is officially set to debut in India on Thursday, November 27. This announcement comes about a month after its global launch, with more specific details expected to be shared closer to the launch date.
This launch marks an important milestone for Nothing, as it is the first time the brand is releasing a budget smartphone under its own name. Previously, entry-level devices were introduced under the CMF brand, including the CMF Phone 2 Pro, which was unveiled earlier this year. Interestingly, the Phone (3a) Lite is somewhat of a scaled-down variant of that device.
Specifications-wise, the Phone (3a) Lite bears a strong resemblance to the CMF Phone 2 Pro. Both feature a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset. They also share a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, along with similar storage and RAM options. The dimensions remain largely comparable as well.
The key distinctions lie in design and camera capabilities. The Phone (3a) Lite sports the signature transparent back glass common to Nothing’s lineup, while the CMF Phone 2 Pro offers interchangeable solid back panels in vivid colors. Additionally, the Phone (3a) Lite is thicker and heavier than its predecessor. Most notably, the camera system on the Phone (3a) Lite swaps out the 50MP 2x telephoto lens found on the CMF Phone 2 Pro for a 2MP macro camera, marking a downgrade in zoom capability.
