OnePlus has officially begun teasing two highly anticipated products: the OnePlus 15R smartphone and a yet-to-be-named smartwatch. Both devices have appeared on the company’s website, sparking excitement among fans eager for more details.
The OnePlus 15R appears to closely resemble the recently launched OnePlus Ace 6 from China. Compared to last year’s OnePlus 13R, the Ace 6 features a marginally larger display, the advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and a significant upgrade in battery capacity with 7800mAh supporting 120W fast charging. Notably, it forgoes the telephoto camera present on the 13R while retaining three other camera sensors.
Based on past trends, the OnePlus 15R is likely to mirror the Ace 6 with only subtle design tweaks. While there is some hope for upgraded camera hardware, current indications suggest it will stick with a dual-camera setup on the rear, rather than continuing the 13R’s inclusion of a dedicated telephoto lens. This points to OnePlus maintaining a trend of less advanced camera systems for its 15 series models compared to their predecessors.
On the wearable front, OnePlus is teasing a brand-new smartwatch on its European websites. The preview offers only a vague outline of the device without revealing any specific features or an official name, referring to it simply as the “New Watch.” It is expected that this smartwatch will be announced alongside the OnePlus 15R and launched simultaneously.
