The much-anticipated launch of the Galaxy S26 family is right around the corner, yet one model—the Galaxy S26 Plus—is facing surprisingly little enthusiasm. While Samsung had even considered canceling this model in favor of a Galaxy S26 Edge, rumors now suggest the Plus variant will be released alongside the S26 and S26 Ultra.
Low Expectations for the Galaxy S26 Plus
Recent polls reveal that the Galaxy S26 Plus isn’t generating much excitement among fans and potential buyers. Its design appears to be an evolution of the Galaxy S25 Plus, featuring a slim frame, a flat 6.7-inch display, and a camera layout that looks more refined, yet it fails to inspire much hype.

Initially, there was speculation that the Galaxy S26 Plus might be replaced by the Edge model, but Samsung appears to have reconsidered and is now proceeding with all three: the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra. Despite this, only about 15.69% of respondents in a recent poll favored the Plus model as the best in the lineup.
Focus Shifts to the Galaxy S26 Ultra
Much of the attention revolves around the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which is expected to deliver the most significant upgrades. Although rumors suggest the Ultra is a modest improvement over the S25 Ultra, it still promises noteworthy enhancements like faster charging capabilities—60W wired and 25W wireless—full Qi2 support, and a brighter, more efficient M14 OLED display with privacy features.
Camera improvements are expected mainly in low-light performance and a wider 85-degree selfie lens, even if sensor sizes remain consistent. The Ultra will likely be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and will feature refined software with user-focused AI enhancements and One UI optimizations.
The design of the S26 Ultra is said to be sleeker, incorporating rounder corners and a unified camera island for a more sophisticated look.
Public Opinion: Which Galaxy S26 Model Will Shine?
Current Poll Results:
- Galaxy S26 – 19.61%
- Galaxy S26 Plus – 15.69%
- Galaxy S26 Ultra – 60.78%
- Galaxy S26 Edge – 3.92%
A Word of Caution
Despite the buzz and small upgrades across the lineup, consumers shouldn’t set their hopes too high. Flagship devices typically don’t experience monumental yearly improvements, and the Galaxy S26 series seems to follow this trend. Samsung’s innovations are incremental, focusing on refinement rather than revolution.
