At its global headquarters and R&D center located at the Binhai Bay Campus, Oppo has introduced its ambitious Apex Guard initiative, setting a new benchmark for smartphone durability and long-term quality in the industry.
Apex Guard embodies a multifaceted approach, combining cutting-edge hardware innovations, optimized software solutions, and strengthened after-sales support, all designed to significantly extend the lifetime and user experience of Oppo devices.
On the hardware side, Oppo has engineered new materials such as Ultra-High-Strength Steel and aerospace-grade AM04 aluminum alloy, enhancing the structural integrity of its smartphones. Additionally, the company unveiled the Armour Shield design to protect devices from the everyday wear and tear caused by drops, scratches, temperature extremes, and regular use of buttons and charging ports.

Oppo’s innovative Silicon-Carbon battery technology employs a specially formulated spherical silicon-carbon material, extending battery life by up to 400 charge cycles and maintaining battery capacity over a longer period.
To validate the durability and reliability of its phones, Oppo collaborates with multiple authoritative testing bodies, including TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD, and SGS. These organizations have conducted over 180 comprehensive device tests, covering everything from initial development stages to product lifecycle completion, ensuring Oppo’s high quality standards are met.
Understanding that software performance also deteriorates with time, Oppo introduced ColorOS 16 with its pioneering Unified Animation Architecture for Android. This advancement guarantees fluid app launches and seamless transitions, keeping device performance feeling fresh even after years of continuous use.

Oppo subjects its devices to rigorous aging tests simulating 48 to 72 months (up to six years) of real-world usage, verifying that hardware and software innovations continue to perform optimally over extensive periods.
The Apex Guard initiative was revealed at Oppo’s Binhai Bay campus, a hub of advanced research facilities such as a Materials Lab, Intelligent Terminal Testing Lab, Power Consumption Intelligent Lab, and Communication Lab, all dedicated to advancing smartphone technology and reliability.
