According to the latest IDC report, Huawei has maintained a strong lead in the Chinese foldable market, capturing 68.9% of the market share in the first three quarters of the year. Honor follows in second place with 11.2%, showcasing the dominance of these Chinese brands in the foldable smartphone segment. Other players in the market include vivo, Oppo, and Samsung, with Samsung making a surprising entry into the top five.

The popularity of foldable smartphones in China is evident from the 2.63 million units shipped in the third quarter alone, marking a 17.8% increase from the previous year. With total shipments reaching 7.62 million units in the first three quarters, the market is poised to hit nearly 10 million shipments by the year-end. The rise of foldable devices from niche to mainstream is attributed to advancements in design and technology, making them more appealing to a wider audience.

With foldable smartphones becoming increasingly popular in China, the market dynamics are shifting towards these innovative devices, setting the stage for further growth and evolution in the technology sector.
