Exciting News: Live Translation Feature Coming to Apple Users in the EU Next Month

Apple recently announced that the highly anticipated Live Translation feature for AirPods will finally be available to users in the European Union starting next month. This feature was unveiled alongside the iPhone 17 announcement and was hailed as one of the best new features on iOS 26. After facing a delay due to compliance requirements, Apple has now confirmed that EU users will soon be able to enjoy the Live Translation feature on their compatible AirPods.

Live Translation Coming Soon

Apple revealed its plans to launch the Live Translation feature in the EU as part of the upcoming iOS 26.2 update. While the exact release date has not been specified, the feature is expected to be included in the stable version of iOS 26.2, set to launch in December. Users can also look forward to accessing the feature through the public beta version soon.

AirPods Pro 3

The Live Translation feature will be available on AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation. Users will need compatible AirPods paired with an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence.

Regulatory Compliance

Apple had initially delayed the release of Live Translation in the EU due to additional engineering work required to comply with the Digital Markets Act. The feature, which allows users to hear translations directly in their earbuds or view live transcriptions on their iPhone, needed adjustments to meet interoperability requirements.
