US and China agree on reducing tariffs and easing restrictions

Source: Date:

The US and China have recently come to an agreement to lower tariffs on Chinese goods and suspend restrictions on US rare-earth mineral imports. This marks a significant shift in the ongoing trade war between the two countries. President Trump and Xi Jinping agreed to reduce tariffs from 57% to 47%, providing some relief to companies affected by the trade tensions.

This development is particularly beneficial for tech companies like Apple, which have been heavily impacted by the trade war. With tariffs decreasing and restrictions on imports easing, companies may see a reduction in costs and improved supply chain stability.

However, there are still areas of uncertainty, such as the export of semiconductors to China and the fate of apps like TikTok in the US. Discussions between China and companies like Nvidia are ongoing, and a final resolution on these issues is yet to be reached.
