Disassembling the Apple iPad Pro (2025): A Challenging Task

Source: Date:

The latest Apple iPad Pro (2025) powered by the M5 chip has been dissected by iFixit to examine its internal components and assess its repairability. With a slim design of just 5.1mm, accessing the internals of the 13" model proves to be a challenging task.

Due to its ultra-thin profile, every component is tightly packed inside, making it difficult to repair. The only access point is through the screen, which requires careful removal to avoid damage. Fortunately, Apple offers repair manuals and parts to assist with the process.

Inside, the battery is secured with ten pull tabs, the USB-C port is easily removable, and the logic board and cameras require meticulous screw removal. Despite most screws being JIS type, not all follow the same standard.

Ultimately, the 13" iPad Pro (2025) receives a repairability score of 5 out of 10, highlighting the challenge of accessing the battery without risking screen damage. Once the screen is removed, the components are relatively easy to replace.
