WhatsApp has introduced an enhanced security feature that allows users to encrypt their chat backups using a passkey. This means that you can now use your fingerprint, face, or screen lock code to protect your WhatsApp chat backups, making it easier and more convenient to keep them safe and private.
By utilizing this new passkey-encryption option, you no longer have to deal with the hassle of remembering complex passwords or lengthy encryption keys. This added layer of security ensures that your personal chats and calls on WhatsApp remain secure and inaccessible to unauthorized users.
The feature will be rolled out gradually over the coming weeks and months. Once available, users can navigate to Settings > Chats > Chat backup > End-to-end encrypted backup to enable the passkey encryption option.
