Confusion Abounds: Contradictory Reports on iPhone Air Production by Apple

Source: Date:
Conflicting Reports on iPhone Air Production have left both consumers and industry insiders perplexed. Initial rumors suggested that Apple was cutting production figures for the iPhone Air due to lower than expected sales. However, a recent supply chain report claims otherwise.

Apple's Production Plans for iPhone Air

Contrary to earlier reports, it seems that Apple may not have reduced production of the iPhone Air after all. TD Cowen has refuted the claims of production cuts, stating that there are no changes to iPhone forecasts for the upcoming months, including the production of the iPhone Air. According to the report seen by AppleInsider, supply chain research indicates that there have been no alterations to the production figures for the phone.

Reports of reduced production for the iPhone Air stand in stark contradiction to the claims made by other industry sources. A report from Mizuho Securities of Japan indicated a decrease of 1 million units in iPhone Air orders, along with a corresponding increase in orders for other models by 7 million devices. Ming-Chi Kuo, a respected industry analyst, supported these claims, suggesting a scaling back of iPhone Air production in the supply chain.

iPhone Air may be at risk of discontinuation due to lackluster demand for the slim device. Meanwhile, iPhone Air's competitor, the sleek Galaxy S25 Edge, has also faced challenges in terms of sales, with rumors suggesting the cancellation of its successor, the Galaxy S26 Edge. The future of the iPhone Air remains uncertain, with Apple keeping details closely guarded. Changes in the supply chain do not necessarily dictate the success or failure of a model in the market. The fate of the iPhone Air may yet offer insights into the demand for slim smartphones.
