Apple to Upgrade Some Products with OLED Displays
According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is planning to incorporate OLED displays in some of its laptops and tablets, following the success of the technology in iPhone, iPad Pro, and Apple Watch.
Upcoming releases include a MacBook Air with an M5 chip and MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
Initial Rollout on iPad Mini, Followed by iPad Air
The OLED display upgrade is expected to debut on the iPad Mini first, potentially leading to a price increase from $499 to $599. Subsequently, the iPad Air with M3 chip may also see a price hike.
Consumer Survey: Would You Pay More for OLED?
Results so far show that 50% of respondents value OLED picture quality, while 33.33% have no preference for OLED.
Apple's Strategic Choice in Display Technology
While Apple is advancing towards OLED displays for premium products, it has chosen to maintain LCD screens for its base iPad model. This decision aligns with the company's focus on offering OLED as a premium feature.
