Apple Rumored to Increase iPhone 18 RAM to 12GB LPDDR5X

Rumors have surfaced suggesting that Apple is planning to boost the RAM of the iPhone 18 to 12GB. This upgrade will give the base model iPhone more power, enabling it to run AI models on-device with greater efficiency. The move to upgrade the RAM to 12GB aligns the base model with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the iPhone Air.

Industry sources have indicated that Apple has approached key supplier Samsung to ramp up the supply of LPDDR5X RAM for the upcoming iPhone lineup. Samsung currently produces LPDDR5X RAM modules in 12GB and 16GB configurations, with Apple opting for the former for the iPhone 18.
