Analysis: iPhone Air production decline attributed to popularity of Pro models

Source: Date:
Apple's sleek iPhone Air is facing production cuts as demand falls short of expectations. Renowned analyst Ming-Chu Kuo indicates that the rise in sales of the iPhone 17 Pro is a key factor in this shift. Kuo suggests that the Pro models are catering well to high-end users, leaving little room for the iPhone Air to thrive in the market. This trend is reflected in Apple's decision to reduce iPhone Air production orders and focus more on the Pro series.

Supply chain adjustments affect iPhone Air production

The supply chain is reportedly scaling back production capacity for the iPhone Air, with most suppliers expected to cut capacity by over 80% by the first quarter of 2026. Some components with longer lead times are also set to be discontinued by the end of 2025.
