After much speculation, OpenAI has officially launched its very own web browser, known as Atlas. This cutting-edge browser seamlessly integrates ChatGPT technology, providing users with instant access to a powerful AI chatbot without the need to switch between multiple applications or tabs.
Based on the Chromium platform, Atlas is currently available exclusively for macOS users, with plans underway to roll out versions for Windows, iOS, and Android. The browser supports data syncing from other browsers, offering a smooth transition for users.

Building upon the foundation of ChatGPT Search, Atlas enables users to browse the web and conduct searches with the assistance of AI. Users can ask targeted questions on any website, and Atlas will provide detailed responses, summaries, and even complete tasks autonomously.
Atlas boasts a unique memory feature, allowing it to recall previous ChatGPT interactions so users can seamlessly continue previous conversations. Additionally, users can request Atlas to retrieve previously opened files or tab groups. The browser also includes a ChatGPT sidebar for easy access to the chatbot.

Furthermore, Atlas incorporates ChatGPT Agent capabilities, enabling it to perform tasks on behalf of users. This feature is currently reserved for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers.
To ensure user safety, OpenAI has implemented strict safeguards in Atlas, preventing actions such as downloading files, running extensions or code, and interacting with other applications on the user's device.
