Recently, it was announced that Samsung will no longer be using Microsoft's OneDrive for cloud storage in the Samsung Gallery app. Instead, they will be transitioning to their own service called Samsung Cloud. According to a leaked screenshot from a One UI 8.5 build, this change is set to take place on April 11, 2026.
Samsung Cloud offers users up to 15GB of free storage for each Samsung account, allowing for the syncing of various types of data such as Memo, S Note, Samsung Notes, Scrapbook, photos, and videos.
In addition to the basic features, Samsung Cloud also supports backing up and restoring voice recordings, music, and documents. Notably, Samsung provides unlimited storage for essential native applications like Contacts and Calendar.
