A recent extreme durability test on the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold revealed some concerning results. The foldable phone, which was recently released, failed the test conducted by YouTuber Zack Nelson from JerryRigEverything. While the phone struggled in various durability tests, it was the bend test that ultimately led to its demise.
Despite the hinge holding firm, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold snapped along the antenna lines, a weak point also observed in the previous model, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, what followed the break was unexpected - the phone's battery exploded, releasing a cloud of smoke. This is the first time a battery has exploded during one of Zack Nelson's bend tests on a foldable phone.
It is important to note that this was an extreme durability test, and the likelihood of a battery explosion under normal use is highly unlikely.
