After five years since its introduction in China, vivo is now rolling out its next generation OS, OriginOS, globally. The newly-introduced version 6, based on Android 16, brings a range of new features and enhancements for users to enjoy.
The new OriginOS 6 will debut on devices like the vivo X300 and X300 Pro, with other models like the vivo X Fold5, vivo X200 series, iQOO 13, and iQOO Neo10 series scheduled to receive the update starting next month. This rollout will continue into 2026 as older models get updated with the new OS.
OriginOS 6 focuses on providing a smoother and faster user experience by improving app col-start times, data loading speeds, and frame rate stability. The new animation engine and design language bring a fresh look to the interface, while the Origin Design system aims to unify visual elements for a cohesive design.
Additionally, the Origin Island feature integrates with Android 16's Live Updates, offering users quick access to contextually-relevant actions. The integration of vivo AI features like the Gemini chatbot and Circle to Search further enhances the user experience.
