Apple Watch has rolled out a new feature that allows users to receive notifications for hypertension. This feature is now available in over 150 countries, including Canada. Users with Apple Watch Series 9 or later, or Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later, can enable this feature in the Health app. The notifications work by using data from the optical heart sensor to track blood vessel response to each heartbeat, helping detect signs of high blood pressure. If persistent high blood pressure is detected, users will receive alerts to take necessary actions. While these features are helpful in raising awareness about health, they should not replace professional medical advice.
