Google has rolled out the latest October security update for its range of Pixel models, providing bug fixes and improvements. While most compatible Pixel devices are included in this update, the Pixel 6 series has been left out once again. Users with Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a devices will not receive this update, as Google has decided not to push it to these models. The update, which includes no security patches from October 1st or 5th, focuses on addressing various bugs and issues to enhance the performance and user experience on the supported Pixel devices.
To install the update on your eligible Pixel device, navigate to Settings > System > System update and follow the on-screen instructions.
The functional updates within the October update target specific areas of the Pixel devices, such as Display & Graphics for Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. Additionally, System updates have been provided for Pixel Tablet, while User Interface enhancements are available for various Pixel models including Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Despite the absence of security updates, functional updates play a crucial role in resolving software-related issues and ensuring optimal performance of the Pixel devices. It is recommended for users of compatible Pixel models to install the update to benefit from these improvements.
