Onyx has officially announced the Boox P6 Pro, their latest e-reader featuring 5G connectivity and a Kaleido 3 color E Ink screen. The smartphone-sized device comes in two versions: one with a monochrome E Ink screen using a Carta 1300 display, and another with a color E Ink screen with 4096 colors, similar to Amazon's Kindle Colorsoft models.
The Boox P6 Pro models boast a 6.13-inch diagonal screen with stylus support (exclusive to the color E Ink version), etched glass panels, 824 x 1,684 px resolution, and automatic brightness adjustment. They are powered by an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage, expandable via microSD. The devices run on Boox OS 4.1 based on Android 13, offer dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, stereo speakers, a single 16MP rear camera, and a 3,950 mAh battery with 15W USB-C charging.
The monochrome Boox P6 Pro starts at CNY 2,516 ($353) in white, while the color E Ink model is priced at CNY 2,991 ($420) in black. Both versions will be released in China on October 15, with international availability yet to be confirmed.
