Recent research has put the regular iPhone 17 to the test in terms of durability, with impressive results. Renowned YouTuber JerryRigEverything took on the challenge to scratch the device using a variety of minerals, showcasing the phone's resilience.
The iPhone 17's back glass, crafted in a soft-touch material, stood up well to the test. Unlike its Pro series counterpart, the iPhone 17's back stayed unscathed due to the absence of sharp anodized aluminum edges on the camera island.
In the rigorous scratch test, the iPhone 17 faced off against aluminum, stainless steel, titanium rods, silver coins, gold coins, and copper wire. Despite the tough lineup, the soft-touch glass back showcased minimal scratches, mainly from harder materials like aluminum and titanium.
