Xiaomi 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 17 Pro Max: A Detailed Comparison

Source: Date:

Xiaomi's President Lu Weibing recently compared the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, shedding light on the design differences between the two flagship smartphones. In a video shared on Weibo, Lu showcased the distinctive features of both devices, aiming to dispel any notions of Xiaomi copying Apple's camera island design.

While Xiaomi claims that the design inspiration for the 17 Pro Max came from the Mi 11 Ultra, observers may find similarities in the camera setup with Apple's offering. Despite the debate over design origins, Xiaomi asserts that they have not skipped a generation to align with Apple's nomenclature, even introducing a "Pro Max" variant in their lineup.

The Xiaomi 17 series is set to debut in China before October 1, marking the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. With an exclusive early access period for the new chipset, Xiaomi aims to lead the market with cutting-edge technology. The Xiaomi 17 Pro is expected to be priced between CNY 5,000 and CNY 6,000, while the Pro Max variant will fall in the range of CNY 6,000 to CNY 7,000 (Chinese market prices).

Noteworthy features of the Xiaomi 17 series include a rear display for various functions such as call management, music control, travel updates, countdowns, and enhanced selfie capabilities utilizing the rear cameras. This additional screen adds a unique touch to the smartphones, reminiscent of foldable flip phone cover displays.

As the launch date approaches, anticipation builds for Xiaomi's latest flagship devices and their competition with Apple's offerings in the high-end segment.
