After a lackluster first week of pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series last year, Apple has bounced back with the introduction of the iPhone 17 series. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that the demand for the new models has surpassed that of their predecessors in the first week of pre-orders.
Apple's production targets for the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max for Q3 this year are 25% higher than for the same models in Q3 2024. Despite the increase in production, shipping estimates have grown to several weeks, indicating strong demand for the core trio.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max remains the most sought-after model, with production increased by 60% compared to the 16 Pro Max. Lead times for both models are similar, showing sustained high demand.
Meanwhile, the new iPhone Air has seen a production increase of 3x compared to the iPhone 16 Plus from last year. However, the Air is not experiencing any shipping delays at this time, and its long-term sales performance will need to be monitored.
The iPhone 17 series is set to go on sale this Friday, and Apple enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the new features and updates offered by the latest models.
