Xiaomi Unveils New InkPalm Mini Plus 2 E-Reader with Android OS and Up to 512GB Storage

Xiaomi has announced the launch of its latest e-reader, the Moaan InkPalm Mini Plus 2, in China. This new device boasts a 5.84-inch e-ink display, runs on Android 14 operating system, and offers an impressive storage capacity of up to 512GB. Compared to competitors like the Amazon Kindle series, which typically top out at 32GB, the InkPalm Mini Plus 2 provides users with a significantly greater storage option.

The InkPalm Mini Plus 2 features a design that is more compact and smartphone-like, with dimensions of 158.9 x 78.6 x 6.9mm. This makes it notably narrower and lighter than the Kindle Paperwhite, coming in at 180 x 120 x 8.1 mm and 140 grams, respectively.

Under the hood, the e-reader is powered by a Rockchip RK3566 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and a 2,250mAh battery. Its 1,440 x 720px e-ink display features AG etched silicon glass with 32 levels of color temperature and 256 levels of grayscale. Additionally, the Mini Plus 2 includes speakers for audiobooks, Bluetooth 5.1, and dual-band Wi-Fi 5 for connectivity.

While currently exclusive to the Chinese market, the InkPalm Mini Plus 2 is priced at CNY 1,399 ($196) with deliveries set to begin on September 22. Xiaomi has not yet announced plans for a global release of the device.
