Apple has unveiled an updated version of the Final Cut Camera app tailored for the recently released iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models. This new iteration, Final Cut Camera 2.0, boasts support for ProRes RAW and genlock, offering users enhanced capabilities for capturing high-quality footage.
One of the standout features of Final Cut Camera 2.0 is the inclusion of open gate recording support, enabling users to record videos using the entire camera sensor at resolutions higher than DCI 4K. Additionally, users can now access new manual controls for the front camera on the iPhone 17 lineup, enhancing their filming experience.
Furthermore, this update brings compatibility with Apple Log 2 on iPhone 17 Pro devices, along with the ability to enable Timecode options and shoot videos using the telephoto camera in ProRes at up to 4K60 fps.
Final Cut Camera 2.0 is expected to be available for download on the App Store later this month at no cost.
