Google has recently expanded its support for the Auracast feature to include more Pixel and Galaxy phones. Auracast is a Bluetooth technology that allows for high-quality audio streaming to multiple Bluetooth receivers simultaneously, turning your phone into a broadcasting station.
Initially introduced for hearing aids with the Pixel 9 series, Auracast support now extends to Sony headphones, JBL Tour One M3, Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, and Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless. The feature is now available on Google Pixel 8 and later models, Samsung Galaxy S23, S24, and S25 series, as well as Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Fold 6, and Z Fold 7.
With Auracast, users can share audio content in public spaces like airports, museums, and train stations, as well as with friends. Group members can join a broadcast by scanning a QR code or using Google's Fast Pair feature.
While currently limited to specific phone models and Bluetooth audio devices with Auracast support, the technology shows promising potential for future applications.
