Samsung is set to reveal its highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone, which has been in mass production for some time now. According to a recent report from ET News, Samsung is planning to announce the innovative device at a special Unpacked event later this month, with a commercial launch expected in November.
New supply chain information indicates that Samsung has reduced its production estimate to 50,000 units, a significant decrease from previous projections of 200,000 units. The upcoming Galaxy G Fold/Galaxy Z TriFold (tentative names) is seen as a test for consumer interest in the tri-fold form factor.
To strategically manage demand, Samsung will initially release the tri-fold device only in South Korea and China, avoiding competition with its other flagship models like the Galaxy Z Fold7.
