A regional court in Frankfurt, Germany has ruled that Apple can no longer claim the Apple Watch is a carbon-neutral product. This decision comes as a blow to Apple's efforts to make all its products carbon-neutral by 2030. The court found that Apple's claim violates competition law, raising questions about the tech giant's eco-friendly initiatives.
Apple has been touting its use of clean energy in manufacturing the Apple Watch, along with other sustainability measures such as using renewable materials and reducing air transportation emissions. The company claims a 75% reduction in product emissions and offsets the remaining emissions with carbon credits.
