Qualcomm Unveils Dragonwing Q-6690 Chipset for Enterprise with Integrated RFID Technology

Source: Date:

Qualcomm has recently introduced its latest Dragonwing Q-6690 chipset specifically designed for enterprise clients in sectors such as retail, manufacturing, and logistics. Notably, this chipset stands out as the world's first chip to incorporate built-in RFID technology, offering significant advantages for businesses.

Along with UHF RFID capabilities, the SoC provides support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and Ultra-wideband (UWB) connectivity. The inclusion of UWB enables proximity-aware functionalities that can be beneficial for businesses managing extensive inventories.

By integrating multiple essential technologies into a single chip, Qualcomm enables Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to develop various form factors without the need for separate RFID modules. RFID technology is crucial for global businesses, with Decathlon, a key partner of Qualcomm, having implemented RFID solutions since 2004.

Moreover, Qualcomm ensures consistent software updates and the availability of customizable feature packs to meet diverse computing demands, multimedia requirements, camera functionalities, and peripheral configurations. Collaborating with Decathlon, RAIN Alliance, and EssilorLuxottica, Qualcomm is poised to deliver innovative solutions for enterprises.
