Samsung has announced a major update for its smart products, bringing them all under the One UI software umbrella. This includes not only smart home devices, but also household appliances like washing machines and refrigerators. With this move, Samsung aims to streamline the user experience across its entire product lineup, similar to the approach taken by Huawei with its Harmony OS.

The new One UI update promises to enhance the way consumers interact with their Samsung devices, offering a more cohesive and intuitive experience. Users can expect familiar features from One UI on smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches to now be available on their kitchen appliances. Additionally, Samsung is committing to providing 7 years of software updates for Wi-Fi-enabled devices launched in 2024, ensuring longevity and support for their products.

Some key enhancements that come with the One UI update include the integration of popular apps like Bixby, Gallery, and Samsung TV Plus on household appliances. Connectivity will also be improved through SmartThings integration, allowing for seamless control and management of devices. Furthermore, the addition of the Now Brief feature will deliver personalized and timely information to users, such as weather forecasts, family schedules, and home insights.

Looking ahead, users can expect new features on their 2024 appliances post the One UI update. For instance, refrigerators equipped with Family Hub displays will gain AI Vision Inside technology, enabling them to recognize common packaged and fresh foods. Bixby will also support Voice ID, providing personalized experiences based on user voices.

Lastly, Samsung is ramping up security measures with the inclusion of Knox Security and Trust Chain, a private blockchain technology. This will ensure that all Wi-Fi-enabled devices launched in 2024 are protected with advanced security features, safeguarding users' data and privacy.
