Following the recent tease of the vivo Y500, the Chinese manufacturer has now officially announced the launch date for the upcoming smartphone in China. The Y500, expected to be a China-exclusive device, is the successor to the vivo Y300.
On September 1, the vivo Y500 will be unveiled in China, boasting a significant upgrade with an impressive 8,200 mAh battery compared to the 6,000 mAh battery found in its predecessor.
Additionally, vivo has revealed that the Y500 will come with IP69+/IP69/IP68 ratings and SGS Gold label five-star certification for drop and impact protection.
While specific details about the device are still under wraps, the official vivo China website showcases the Y500 in color options including light blue, black, and purple.
Rumors suggest that the vivo Y500 will feature a 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 5,000 nits peak brightness. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, the phone is expected to house a 50 MP primary rear camera, run on Android 15-based Origin OS 5, offer an 8 MP selfie camera, and support 90W fast charging.
