Introducing Google's Identity Check Feature
Google's Identity Check is a new security feature designed to safeguard a user's sensitive data by requiring biometric identity verification for certain actions when the device is outside a trusted area. This feature adds an extra layer of protection to prevent thieves from accessing personal information on a stolen Pixel device.
With the release of Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1, Identity Check will require biometric tests to be passed before accessing sensitive apps, adding an additional barrier for thieves trying to breach the device's security.
Secure Your Personal Data with Identity Check
Identity Check can be enabled through the device settings, providing peace of mind in case of theft. By using biometric locks such as fingerprint sensors or Face Unlock, users can prevent unauthorized access to their sensitive information.
Additionally, Pixel devices with Face Unlock feature a Class 3 security rating, ensuring protection against fake representations of the user's face. This high-security rating allows for secure transactions and access to sensitive apps.
